Late Night Mud fest:

This is a view from underneath Ponte Sant’Angelo, looking toward The Vatican. Off in the distance there is St Peter’s Basilica (Basilica Papale di San Pietro in Vaticano).

There was this little exposed mud shelf that I was able to stumble out on. It smelled pretty foul and my tripod legs (and my legs) sank pretty deep into the muck. I also had to ram my tripod deep down into the gunk to prevent any slippage or sag during the long exposures. When I finally finished and pulled the tripod out, it made a nasty ‘pluurrppp’ sound and took one of the rubber feet hostage. Crap… Let’s just say it’s not the same kind of mud that I remember playing in as a kid.
